Land use, land cover and tenure, and associated trends have considerable value in decision-making as they are evidence-based at regional, national, and local levels to understand development in West Africa. Thus, land use and land cover (LULC) mapping have enormous potential to help ECOWAS and its member states achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in agriculture, environmental monitoring, and meet the objectives and needs of national and local stakeholders. Moreover, making these maps available to decision-makers provides tangible evidence of change and thus paves the way for an easy consensus on better use of natural resources
